Find Fulton County Booking Photos

Fulton County jail mugshots and booking photos are not published in an official county web gallery in the sources reviewed. A search to find Fulton County booking photos should start with the jail for current custody and then use a written records request when a photograph is needed. Illinois law treats some arrest-report information as public, but release depends on whether the photograph exists, whether the person was held by the right agency, and whether redaction or another legal limit applies.

Fulton County Jail Mugshots Status

No official Fulton County, Illinois jail roster, mugshot gallery, recent-bookings photo page, or daily booking-photo report was located on the official county or sheriff pages reviewed. The Fulton County Sheriff's Office pages provide sheriff contact information, jail visitation rules, FOIA instructions, city police contacts, and public-safety information, but they do not show an online jail mugshots search.

The Fulton County Sheriff Illinois app listings also do not prove a public mugshot gallery. The Google Play listing and Apple App Store listing describe tips, crime reports, interactive features, and public-safety news, but the inspected store text did not verify an app-only inmate photo tool. Same-name Fulton County mugshot pages from other states should be excluded because they do not describe Fulton County, Illinois custody records.

What is and isn't public: A Fulton County booking photo may be requestable when and if available under Illinois arrest-record law. No official public Fulton County mugshot gallery was located.

Find Fulton County Booking Photos

Because there is no verified official photo roster, the practical path is custody confirmation first and records request second. Call the Fulton County Jail at (309) 547-2277 when the person may be in current county custody. Ask what public information can be released and whether a booking photograph exists. If the answer requires a document request, use the sheriff FOIA process.

  1. Confirm the arrest was in Fulton County, Illinois, not another Fulton County in a different state.
  2. Call the Fulton County Sheriff's Office and jail at (309) 547-2277 for current custody and releasable information.
  3. Prepare a written FOIA request if a booking photo or arrest-report copy is needed.
  4. Identify the person by full name, date of birth or age, arrest date, arresting agency, and case or report number if known.
  5. Ask for the booking photograph and arrest-report information, if available under 5 ILCS 140/2.15.

For broader custody checks, use Illinois VINE for notification, IDOC Individual in Custody Search for sentenced state prisoners, and federal or immigration locators when local jail custody is not the right category.

Fulton County Mugshot Record Fields

No public Fulton County online inmate profile was available for inspection, so it would be inaccurate to claim that the county site displays mugshots, height, weight, housing unit, bond, or release date in a public profile. The safe field inventory comes from Illinois FOIA 5 ILCS 140/2.15 and the sheriff records process. That statute covers arrest-report information, including a photograph when and if available, with exemptions still in force.

Fulton County Mugshots Public Law

Illinois FOIA is the key legal channel for Fulton County jail mugshots when no photo is posted online. 5 ILCS 140 allows public-record requests to Illinois public bodies unless an exemption applies. Section 2.15 specifically says chronologically maintained arrest and criminal-history information held by state or local criminal justice agencies must be furnished as soon as practical and no later than 72 hours after arrest. The listed identifying information includes a photograph when and if available.

Key statute: 5 ILCS 140/2.15 covers listed arrest-report information, including a photograph when and if available.

Key limit: 5 ILCS 140/7 and 7.5 preserve exemptions for protected, private, juvenile, investigation-sensitive, or otherwise restricted information.

Request Fulton County Booking Photo

Use the Fulton County Sheriff FOIA process for sheriff-held booking photos and arrest-report information. The sheriff page says requests must be in writing and should describe the requested records in detail. Completed requests can be emailed to foia@fultonco.org, mailed to Fulton County Sheriff's Office, Attn: Freedom of Information Officer, P.O. Box 269, Lewistown, IL 61542, or delivered to 268 W. Washington Ave.

Include the full name, date of birth or age, arrest date, incident location if known, case or report number, arresting agency, and a precise request. A clear phrasing is: booking photograph and arrest-report information for the named person, if available under 5 ILCS 140/2.15. The sheriff page states that the first 50 black-and-white letter-size pages are free and additional pages are 15 cents each. A photo request may involve redactions, withholding, or different handling if another law applies.

The official Sheriff FOIA instructions show the local written-request channels and copy-fee language.

Fulton County Mugshot Redactions

FOIA does not mean every requested photo or arrest record must be released in full. The research file notes a local municipal example from Canton Police. Canton's FOIA materials warn that other state or federal laws, including the Privacy Act or Juvenile Court Act, may limit release. They also note that juvenile offender information, pending investigations, informants, investigation-sensitive details, and privacy-protected information may be redacted or withheld.

That Canton policy should not be presented as the sheriff's policy, but it is useful local context for how law-enforcement records in Fulton County can be screened before release. The sheriff may apply Illinois FOIA exemptions or other legal limits to a booking photo request. If a requester needs an unredacted law-enforcement record for a legal proceeding, the correct path may be subpoena, court order, discovery, or an attorney, not a public mugshot request.

ReasonPossible Result
Juvenile recordPhoto or identifying details may be withheld or heavily redacted.
Pending investigationInformation may be delayed, redacted, or denied under an exemption.

No photograph available5 ILCS 140/2.15 only refers to a photograph when and if available.

Booking Photo Court Record Difference

A Fulton County booking photo is a jail or arrest-record item. It does not prove guilt. Court records after arrest show the charges filed by the prosecutor, hearings, orders, warrants, release conditions, and disposition. The jail record may list an arrest allegation, while the court record may later show an amended, dismissed, reduced, or convicted charge. Use court records after jail arrest to check what happened to the case.

IDOC records are different again. A person sentenced to state prison may appear in the IDOC Individual in Custody Search, and IDOC profiles may include statewide custody fields and sometimes photos. That is not the same as Fulton County Jail publishing mugshots. If the person was transferred to Illinois River Correctional Center or another state prison, use IDOC rather than the county jail.

Booking photo
A jail intake or arrest photograph tied to the arrest record, if one exists.
Arrest charge
The allegation listed by law enforcement at booking.
Court charge
The charge filed or pursued in court by the prosecutor.
Disposition
The final result of a charge or case.

Fulton County Mugshot Removal

No official Fulton County source in the research stated that the jail posts booking photos online after release, keeps historical photos public, or runs a removal form for an online gallery. Since no official mugshot gallery was found, removal questions should focus on the record-clearing process and the agency holding the record. A dismissal, acquittal, sealing order, or expungement order does not automatically prove that every third-party copy has been removed.

For court-record cleanup, sealing hides a qualifying record from most public access while preserving limited agency access. Expungement is a stronger process that can destroy or erase qualifying records under the court order. Ask the Fulton County Circuit Clerk or an attorney about the order that applies to the case. For sheriff-held records, ask the sheriff's FOIA officer how a court order affects public release. Do not use pay-to-remove mugshot sites as a legal records-clearing path.

Federal ICE Mugshot Limits

Federal and immigration custody channels do not work like a county jail mugshot gallery. The BOP inmate locator helps locate federal inmates from 1982 to present, but BOP and the U.S. Marshals Service generally do not publish ordinary federal booking mugshots in a public county-style roster. The ICE Online Detainee Locator System is a custody locator for current ICE detainees and certain CBP custody cases, not a mugshot gallery.

The BOP locator landing page is a relevant source when a Fulton County arrest has moved into federal custody.

Fulton County jail mugshots federal BOP locator difference

Use federal and ICE locators to answer custody-location questions, not to search for Fulton County jail mugshots.

Avoid Commercial Mugshot Sites

Commercial mugshot pages and pay-to-remove offers are not official Fulton County records channels. They may copy photos from older sources, mix same-name counties, fail to update case outcomes, or leave a dismissed case looking unresolved. The Fulton County research did not support linking to any commercial mugshot publisher. Use the sheriff, the circuit clerk, Judici, re:SearchIL, IDOC, BOP, ICE, and VINE based on the record type needed.

Note: A booking photo is an arrest-record item, not proof that a person was convicted of the charge.
